41607 Mount Whitney Moonset, California

The Lone Pine peak is on the left, Mount Whitney, highest mountain in the lower 48 States, is seen near the middle and the full moon is setting on the right, just after sunrise. The unusual rock formations in the foreground are unique to the Alabama Hills area and several Westerns were shot here by Hollywood. Five images were joined together to make this panorama. You have to see this in large size to appreciate it. A large (2x5 feet) print is available, either as a matted print ready for framing or as a Gallery Wrap to make it look like a painting.
